We love a good holiday-themed cocktail, but sometimes, the best option for entertaining is simplicity! Punch is always the easiest possible batch cocktail – just pour everything into a large container, stir, and let guests serve themselves.

Christmas Punch Ingredients
- Cranberry juice: This is what gives this Christmas punch it's beautiful, bright color! Plus, the tartness of cranberry juice helps balance out all of the other ingredients. Feel free to use sweetened or unsweetened cranberry juice depending on your preferences.
- Orange juice: Pulp free is usually best for this punch. Feel free to substitute with another citrus juice of your choice, like grapefruit, tangerine or blood orange.
- Apple juice: Sweetened or unsweetened both work fine – it just depends on your preference for sweetness!
- Vodka: Vodka seems to be the most popular option for punch, but I also love this recipe with tequila. They're completely interchangeable. White rum would also work well.
- Orange liqueur: Any orange liqueur will work here – triple sec, Cointreau, etc.
- Sparkling rosé: You can substitute with any sparkling wine or champagne of your choice. Prosecco also works well. Wait to add the wine until just before serving so it doesn't go flat!
- Garnishes: Totally optional, but they make this Christmas punch extra festive. We like ours with mandarin orange slices, fresh cranberries and a few star fruit slices.
How to Make this Christmas Punch Recipe
STEP 1: Add everything except for the rosé to a large bowl or dispenser. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
STEP 2: Add in ice and top off with sparkling rosé, then stir gently. Ladle into glasses and enjoy!
Equipment
The only thing you'll need for this recipe is a punch bowl! If you don't have one that's big enough, you can also use a trifle bowl (like we did), or a drink dispenser.
Storage
If you want to make this punch ahead of time, you can keep it stored in the refrigerator in a sealed container for 3-5 days. Just wait to add the sparkling rosé and the garnishes until just before serving!
Tips and FAQ
Top tip
Make the punch a few hours ahead of time (without the rosé) and chill it in the refrigerator before serving. This will prevent the ice from melting too quickly and watering it down!
More tips
- Make it nonalcoholic: Leave out the alcohol and add in ginger beer and/or club soda instead. Alternatively, you can substitute the alcohol with a zero proof alternative – there are so many different options available these days!
- You can make this punch as sweet or as unsweetened as you'd like depending on the type of juice you use.
- Variations: You can easily change up the flavor of this punch by trying different combinations of juices, liquors and wines! For a more tropical-inspired punch, try it with pineapple, orange and mango juice and rum instead.
- Juice ice cubes: If you'll be leaving this punch out for a significant period of time and don't want to keep adding ice cubes to water it down, freeze some juice in ice cube trays. You can add more as needed without watering down your punch!
