  • Perfect creamy texture: Silken tofu and avocado team up to create a creamy texture without the use of nuts or cream.
  • Best use of herbs: This recipe is great way to use up any fresh herbs you have in your refrigerator, or if your home garden is especially abundant this year.

🥬 Ingredients

Here's everything you'll need to make our vegan herb tofu dip:

Silken tofu is essential to the super creamy texture of this herby tofu dip!

📋 Ingredient Notes

  • Silken tofu: This is the secret ingredient for creating a creamy dip without the use of nuts or dairy. A common complaint is that silken tofu can be a bit harder to find at the grocery store. It should be located near other tofu & vegan products. In some cases, it may not be near the other tofu, and instead may be in the global cuisines, vegetarian, or even dairy section of the supermarket.
  • Herbs: Tightly pack the herbs in to their measuring containers, otherwise your measurements might not match up with ours.
  • Lime juice: freshly squeezed is always best in this dip for a super bright, refreshing flavor.
  • Vegan cream cheese: this adds a bit of tanginess and extra creaminess to our tofu dip. You can also use plain non dairy yogurt or vegan sour cream.

🔪 Step-by-Step Instructions

(1) Add all of the ingredients to a food processor or blender. (A blender will provide a creamier, smoother texture.)

(2) Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary.

before and after blending herby tofu dip in blender.
You may have to scrape down the sides once or twice to fully incorporate all ingredients.

(3) Garnish dip with any leftover herbs and serve with fresh veggies.

💭 Expert Tips and FAQs

  • Change up the herbs: you can really use any fresh herbs of choice in this tofu dip, including cilantro, parsley, dill, tarragon, basil, mint, etc.
  • We love serving this dip with fresh veggies, crackers, or tortilla chips. It has a texture that's similar to a creamy guacamole, so feel free to use it wherever you'd use guac. It also works nicely as a crema for tacos!
  • Be sure to taste and adjust salt and pepper before serving.
  • You can make this recipe ahead of time and stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Be sure not to use any other variety of tofu other than silken tofu in this recipe. Firm and extra firm tofu have a drastically different texture and will not produce the same results.
  • Have some leftover silken tofu? Might sound crazy, but it's the key ingredient in this fabulous vegan chocolate pie!

My goodness what a beautiful presentation. I lost a silencer tofu dip recipe that was a light lemony dip, so I was searching thru the internet for one similar when I spotted your delicious looking recipe. I look forward to trying it, although I am not sure I will add the rosemary, I’m. Of that keen on that particular herb, I may substitute simple parsley or simply omit.

Hi Lisa, Thanks so much! Hope you give it a try. I think parsley would be a great substitute for rosemary!
