Description
Sweet, tangy, and refreshing, this Passion Fruit Daiquiri is a tropical take on a classic! With just rum, lime juice, passion fruit juice and sugar, it's quick and easy to make.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons sugar (turbinado, demerara or granulated)
- 1 1/2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
- 3 ounces white rum
- 6 ounces passion fruit juice
- 1 passion fruit, halved (optional)
- Lime slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Add sugar and lime juice to a cocktail shaker. Stir well to help the sugar dissolve. Let the mixture sit for ~10 minutes, giving it a stir every few minutes, until the sugar is dissolved.
- Fill the cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add in the rum and passion fruit juice. Shake for 10 seconds.
- Strain into 2 cocktail glasses. Optional: scoop the pulp out of half of a passion fruit into each glass.
Notes
Let the sugar dissolve: Make sure to let the sugar dissolve into the lime juice. Don't skip this step or you will end up with sugar granules in your drink.
Garnish: We love garnishing this cocktail with half a passion fruit or some lime wedges. You can scoop the passion fruit seeds straight into your cocktail for extra flavor.
How to serve: This passion fruit daiquiri is best chilled. Pro tip: chill all of the ingredients prior to making this cocktail. You can even chill the glasses to keep it nice and cold for longer. I don't like adding a ton of ice to this drink, as it waters down the flavors quickly. However, a larger ice cube (that you might use for bourbon/whiskey) is a great option as it takes longer to melt.
Make ahead of time: Make the entire cocktail (without ice) and refrigerate until ready to serve. Stir or shake well before serving over ice.
