Matcha Mojito

Description

This gorgeous green Matcha Mojito is verdant, earthy and a fun twist on a classic cocktail. Perfect for entertaining!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz white rum
  • 3 oz hot water
  • 1/4 tsp matcha powder
  • 3 tbsp demerara sugar
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 20 mint leaves
  • Club soda to top
  • Crushed ice
  • Mint and lime wedges to garnish


Instructions

  1. Heat water to make tea. Add ¼ tsp of matcha to water and whisk well until it's dissolved. Set aside and let cool.  
  2. Add 1 ½ tbsp of sugar to each cocktail glass with 10 mint leaves each. Muddle mint leaves and sugar.
  3.  Juice ½ of a lime into each glass and muddle until mint leaves are broken into smaller pieces.
  4. Once matcha has cooled a bit, add rum and matcha mixture to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for a slow count of 10.  
  5. Add crushed ice to each glass. Strain and pour ½ of rum matcha mixture into each glass.
  6. Top with club soda, stir well and garnish with mint leaves and lime wedges.

Notes

MOCKTAIL VERSION:

  1. Heat water to make tea. Whisk together ¼ tsp of matcha and 3 oz hot water until matcha is dissolved. Set aside and let cool.  
  2. Add 1 ½ tbsp of demerara sugar to each glass with 10 mint leaves eachMuddle mint leaves and sugar.
