We love the warm fall flavors of this fall-spiced fig cocktail – figs, cinnamon, star anise and ginger beer pair beautifully for an autumnal twist on a classic moscow mule.



For drink:

  • 2 oz fig infused vodka (recipe below)*
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup* 
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 6 oz ginger beer

Fig Infused Vodka:

  • 15 figs, halved
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise
  • About 30 oz vodka


Infused vodka:

  1. Cut 15 figs into halves.  Put into 32 oz mason jar, add 1 cinnamon stick, and one star anise.
  2. Pour vodka over the top (we used pear vodka). Shake jar once or twice a day and let infuse for 2-3 days. Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth and return to clean glass jar.

To make drink:

  1. Add vodka, simple syrup and lime juice to a cocktail shaker over ice. Shake well, then strain into a moscow mule mug (with ice) and top with ginger beer. Enjoy!


*If you don’t have time to infuse the vodka, use regular vodka and make homemade fig-infused simple syrup. 

To make fig simple syrup, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, add about 5 sliced figs and 1 cinnamon stick. Let infuse for at least 30 minutes, preferably one hour. Strain the syrup through a cheesecloth or fine mesh sieve and let cool before adding to your cocktail.
