Description

These beautiful Pomegranate Moscow Mules are an easy-to-make winter/holiday cocktail. With pomegranate and orange juice, vodka, lime juice and ginger beer, they come together in just a few minutes. Perfect for Christmas or any holiday party!


Ingredients

  • 6 oz unsweetened pomegranate juice
  • 4 oz vodka
  • 1 1/2 oz orange juice
  • 1 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 6 oz ginger beer

Instructions

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice and add pomegranate juice, orange juice, vodka and lime juice. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. 
  2. Pour into a copper mug (or cocktail glass) over ice and top off with ginger beer.
  3. Optional: garnish with pomegranate seeds and mint or rosemary. Enjoy!

Notes

Make ahead for a party: You can also multiply and make the base cocktail mixture (except for the ginger beer) ahead of time and store in a pitcher. When ready to serve, stir/whisk well, pour into each glass and top off with ginger beer.

Garnishes: fresh pomegranate arils add a nice pop of tartness and sweetness to these mules. We also love to garnish with an herb sprig. Just about anything will do – we like rosemary, mint, thyme or sage. 

Make it into a mocktail: Yes! Substitute the vodka with extra pomegranate juice and ginger beer. Alternatively, we recently tried these nonalcoholic spirits and loved them!

Pomegranate juice: you should be able to find pomegranate juice at most natural grocery stores (like Whole Foods). We like to use 100% pomegranate juice, which means it's unsweetened and doesn't have any additives. If you don't like the tartness, you can cut it with some simple syrup, or add more orange juice.
