Whisk together dry ingredients.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla, applesauce and maple syrup.
Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to make batter
Stir in melted dark chocolate
Spread in 9x13 pan and bake for 28-30 mins at 350˚F
Remove cake from oven and let cool completely
Cream vegan butter and powdered sugar until fluffy
Add melted chocolate and beat until light and fluffy
Frost cooled cake and top with chocolate shavings
