Add sugar and water to a small pot over medium-high heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add in the ginger, then bring mixture to a boil. Simmer for 3 minutes.
Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove the pulp. Pour the lemonade into a large pitcher and refrigerate until chilled (or pour over ice and enjoy right away!).
